
Dave Archer, Founder of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York, Inc. (BCANY) He has served as the Executive Director of BCANY for over thirty years. His coaching background includes coaching at all levels of high school (boys and girls) as well as head coaching at the collegiate Division III level (men’s). His vision and leadership were instrumental in establishing the Virtual Hall of Fame. Dave has been honored at the local, state and national levels for his tireless work for the coaches and game of basketball.

Chris Russo, Boy’s basketball coach at Monticello H.S. Chris serves on the BCANY Board of Directors, representing Section 9, Boys. He is a Project Coordinator for the Virtual Hall of Fame. As a Project Coordinator, Chris developed and now monitors the criteria used for selecting the Outstanding Players, Teams and Moments sections. He also oversees the selection process.

Daniel Hall, Hall of Fame Local Development Director in the Glens Falls area. Dan had been involved with the Hall of Fame since 1992, when he and Brian Beaury, head coach of the College of St. Rose Men’s Basketball team, got together to build a display for the Hall of Fame in the Glens Falls Civic Center. Dan has been a member of the State Basketball Tournament Committee for 20 years and has been a member of the Tournament’s Bid Committee for 16 years. Dan is a small business owner (Hallwear) in Glens Falls and an avid basketball fan.

Al Monaco

Ben Nelson, Ben Nelson has served on the BCANY Board of Directors since the founding of the organization. He currently is an Assistant Executive Director involved in most aspects of BCANY. He represents Section IV Boys. He coached at Oxford Academy (Boys and Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coach), Plattsburg State (Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach), Colgate University (Women’s Assistant Basketball Coach), Bainbridge-Guilford (Boys Varsity Head Basketball Coach). He currently is the Interscholastic Sports Coordinator for Section IV of the
NYSPHSAA.

Jackie Ward, Jackie attended Binghamton University on a Basketball scholarship from 2007-2011. In a addition to a fine career at Binghamton, Jackie volunteered to work at various basketball camps and clinics. After graduating in the spring of 2011 with a B.A. degree in English, she accepted an Assistant Coaching position at Nazareth College where she continues her graduate studies in Education. Jackie has been instrumental in the construction, creative design and organization of the concepts for Virtual Hall of Fame.

Melvin DeBottis, Melvin is a senior at Binghamton University majoring in English-Creative Writing. After graduating in the spring of 2012, he hopes to go to graduate school and pursue a Master’s degree in Adolescent or Special Education. He has been instrumental in the editing, writing, and organization of the biographies and most of the other sections of the website. Melvin’s love of sports and his creativity enhance the site.
