Amityville High School, Section XI

 

Coach Claude Byer coached the Girl’s team at Amityville HS for over twenty years. He guided Amityville to 359 wins at over a 70% winning percentage. His teams won ten Sectional crowns. He initiated summer leagues, awards programs, clinics and camps for girls. He was a champion of girls’ sports long before Title IX. He has been named Coach of the Year many times by the league and media and received numerous other awards from many organizations.
