Edward A. Wachter, 1998

Player

 

Wachter began playing basketball in 1895 and was considered as the greatest center of the game's barnstorming era. His career included 1800 games as a force in the middle as a player and over 20 years as a coach. Ed and his brother, Lew, led the Schenectady Company E. team to the unofficial national title in 1905. Ed coached at Harvard and was elected into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 1962.
