Watervliet High School, Section 2

 

Coach George Mardigan has over 500 wins in his twenty-nine seasons as a coach. His teams win over 78% of their games. He has the most wins in Section 2 history. Watervliet had a 43 game win streak and won eight league titles in a row. He led his teams to twelve Section 2 and five Regional titles. He led his squad to the tournament in Glens Falls many times including a NYSPHSAA and Federation state championships. He operates a golf tournament for charity. He received many honors over his career. He is a member of the Hudson Valley C.C. Hall of Fame. The basketball court at Watervliet HS is “George Mardigan Court.”
