In over 30 years Welsh has amassed all amazing record as a high school and college coach, with an overall record of 670 wins and 199 losses. He has a resume that includes two NCAA Division III National Championships, nine Eastern Region championships, three trips to the Division III finals, a 60 game winning streak and two undefeated seasons. He is a member of the Ithaca College, Massena High School, and Potsdam State Hall of Fame.
