Poughkeepsie High School, Woodlands High School, Section 1

 

Robert Murphy led his teams at Poughkeepsie and Woodlands High Schools to 313 wins in twenty seasons. His teams won 10 league titles, 5 sectional titles, 4 regional titles and 1 state championship. He was named coach of the year numerous times, including the  National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Association, Section 1 Coach of the Year in 1997.  He was an assistant coach of the Hudson Valley Scholastic gold medal winning Boys Basketball Team at the Empire State Games in 1992. Coach Murphy is also a member of the Poughkeepsie High School Sports Hall of Fame.
